Burlesque Star. Stripper.Writer. Educator. Mentor. Witch.
Inspired by the erotic and arcane, and fuelled by the desire to create social change through striptease, Bella de Jac is the sex-positive, body-positive Pied Piper you’ve been waiting for.
Bella’s work centres around the exploration of an array of feminine archetypes both tantalising and terrifying, creating a space for audiences and students that is equal parts sensual, playful, insightful, and free of inhibition.
Previous work has included terrorising delighted audience members as a vagina dentata monster, playing naked jump rope on stage, re-enacting the Birth of Venus as a museum exhibit and 9 years as the Queen of The Burlesque Underground.
Bella has toured her award-winning work around the world including: lecturing at New College Oxford, Taylor Mac’s 24 decades of popular music Melbourne Festival, Living Museum of Erotic Women, Baby Got Back Tour, The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender Las Vegas, New York Burlesque Festival, Australian Burlesque Festival Headliner, New Zealand Burlesque Festival Headliner, Perth International Burlesque Festival Headliner, Adelaide Fringe, GLITTER LGBTIQ festival Gold Coast, Congress on Undress Sydney, and Vanguard Brisbane Powerhouse.
With a keen focus on sensual education Bella leads Season of The Witch Ritual Dance for people of all genders seeking to unshackle themselves from inhibition and taboo around sexual expression, dance and magic. She also mentors Burlesque artists, teaches dance technique and educates on the history of striptease.
